Errata for A Melancholy Affair at the Weldon Railroad

1)  Prologue page xviii line 3 “St. Johnsburg” should be “St. Johnsbury.”

2)  Prologue page xxiv 2^nd to last line “Barr” should be “Donaldson.”

3)  Chapter IV page 32. 8^th line from bottom.

“signaled out” should be “singled-out.”

4)  Chapter X page 73 Last full paragraph page 73: The figure for casualties to the 11th Vermont of 301 is correct. The breakdown should read:

·        8 enlisted men killed

·        1 line officer killed

·        25 enlisted men wounded

·        1 field officer captured

·        17 line officers captured

·        249 enlisted men captured

5)  Page 220 John Barton Mustered out 8/25/64 should read 8/25/65.

6)  Notes Chapter I #23 page 239

“6/23/64” should be “6/22/64.” There is uncertainty as to whether these two men were captured on 6/22/64 or the following day.

7)  Notes Change “Beaufort, North Carolina” to “South Carolina.”
